Washing Machine Repair Problems

If Your Washer's Doing This, We Can Fix It

Image

Shakes, walks, or gets loud

It's usually worn suspension, bad shock absorbers, or an off-balance drum, and we'll fix it before it damages your floor.
Image

Won't spin or agitate

Clothes come out soaked when the drum won't spin, often from a worn belt, a failed lid switch, or a bad motor coupling.
Image

Won't drain

Water left in the tub usually means a clogged pump, a kinked drain hose, or a failed pump motor.
Image

Leaks water

A leak usually traces to a cracked hose, a worn door boot, or a loose fitting — small parts worth catching early.
Image

Won't turn on

No lights or response points to the outlet, the lid switch, or the control board, and we test the cheap causes first.
Image

Won't fill or heat water

A tub that won't fill or water that stays cold usually means a bad inlet valve, a clogged screen, or a heating element.
Repair or Replace

Is It Worth Fixing or Replacing?

Whether it's a top loader, front loader, stackable, or compact washer, we won't push a replacement you don't need, and we'll tell you honestly when a repair no longer makes sense.

Why Maryland Trusts Us With Their Washers

Before they called us, our customers feared a no-show too. See how it went.

The service tech CJ was very professional, polite and knowledgeable about his work. He explained to me everything in detail that needed to be done with my washing machine and ensured I knew my options before I proceeded any further.

Our GE washing machine suddenly stopped draining and spinning. I called Landers based on the Google reviews, and they did not disappoint. Sean diagnosed the problem, and swiftly returned with the replacement part (it had to be ordered) that fixed our washing machine. I also had great response when I called them. On a side note, and unrelated to Landers’ superb performance, I will never buy GE appliances again! This is an expensive washer (model GFW850SPN4RS) and matching GE dryer that has never worked as well as our previous 20-year old Kenmore appliances. The washing machine has so many options that it we had to put the manual on top of the washer so we can refer to it whenever the machine beeps or the lights blink. The dryer also has many settings. Unfortunately, only one of them completely dries a full load of clothes, and that’s the simple, manual setting of ‘Timed Dry’, full heat and 90 minutes. We spent way too much money on “features” that we never use. Bottom line: Appliance problems -> call Landers! Purchase decisions -> avoid GE!

We have always had good experiences with Landers. Chris recently repaired our washer. He was affable, knowledgable, and generally very helpful, not just in explaining the repair, but in suggesting ways we can keep the washer working at its most reliable. Like Dino, the now retired repairman he replaced, Chris is an excellent representative of a very good company.

My Kenmore Elite washing machine, 15 years young, code said drain hose clogged. I debated calling Landers and paying fee for diagnosing, or just buying new. I’m glad I called and asked for George, who has always been upfront with all my appliances. I’m pretty sure he’s worked on them all. He felt the cost of repair outweighed buying new, because they don’t make them like this anymore. I agreed and told him I’d be calling landers when it was time for new. Who knows, I may get another 5 years! Thank you Landers!
