GE Washer Problems

Common GE Repair Issues

Image

Won't drain

Water left in the drum after a cycle usually points to a clogged or failing drain pump or hose.
Image

Won't spin

When the washer skips the spin, it's often the drive belt, the motor, or a load that's out of balance.
Image

Loud or grinding noise

Strange noise during a cycle typically means worn bearings, a stretched belt, or tired shock absorbers.
Image

Won't start

No response to the controls usually traces to the door latch, the control board, or the power supply.
Image

Leaking water

Leaks during or after a wash come from worn door seals, cracked hoses, or a failing water inlet valve.
Image

Musty or moldy smell

A gasket or drum with mold or mildew buildup is the usual source of a foul odor.

Why Maryland Trusts Us With Their Washers

Before they called us, our customers feared a no-show too. See how it went.

Like most people our interactions with Landers are few and far between. We had a great experience 12-13 years ago at The Maytag Store in Timonium (we prefer to shop with independent businesses whenever possible) buying a new washing machine. In between then and now we’ve had Landers out for various repairs and we’ve gotten great service (and advice) from Dino and the other techs. Just last year the motherboard died on our perfectly good ~20 year old oven. I called Landers and they spent time with me trying to track down a replacement motherboard. And most recently that washing machine needed replacing and we bought a new one from Landers, whose prices are competitive with the big box stores.

In a row home with a narrow basement I was very worried about being able to get a washer and dryer down the stairs, so I was very happy and relieved that Landers was able to work with us and recommend a good replacement, and their professional and quick delivery staff were able to get it downstairs and installed in record time! Would certainly recommend Landers to anyone looking to upgrade or replace their appliances.
