A cooktop stove is a great appliance to have if you are relying on a wall oven or don’t have an oven at all. It is easy to place it under a window, along a long countertop, in a corner, or on a kitchen island. Here’s how to install a cooktop stove based on general guidelines. Turn Off the Power

Remove the Old Cooktop & Measure the Cooktop Space
Next, remove the old cooktop if applicable and measure the dimensions of the cooktop space. Cooktops are heavy, so it is best to get a second pair of hands to help you lift it out. Cooktops are usually 30 inches. Use a tape measure to get exact measurements and account for overhangs and clearances.
Install Cooktop Clips and Brackets
Cooktops sit securely within countertops with the help of brackets and clips. Some parts may attach to the countertop and others to the appliance itself. Follow the instructions carefully, using the right tools, measurements, and safety precautions.
Install Cooktop
Finally, with the help of a friend, lower the cooktop into place. With the previous steps completed, it will fit snugly and securely in its spot.
Hook the Cooktop Stove to the Power
Connect the cooktop stove to its power source, whether gas or electric. If you aren’t sure how to do that, please contact a professional to help so that you avoid electrocution or carbon monoxide poisoning.
Install Trim, Knobs, Etc.
Install the extra bits like knobs and trim. If you use a trim, caulk the edges so that no debris gets between it and the countertop.
