Ways to Lengthen Your Washer’s Lifespan
Don’t Overload the Machine
You don’t want the machine to overexert itself. Avoid overloading the machine with a large load of clothing. Aside from making the washer work harder than it should, your laundry also won’t get as clean.
Don’t put in a small load and run a normal cycle, either. That will just waste water and energy. It’s better to use the right cycle for the right kind of load.
Keep It Clean
Washing machines get dirty, too, and that dirt can cause blockages and buildup. You can inspect and clean the machine’s pipes, exterior, and drum once or twice a year. To clean the drum, you can run a hot water cycle with an empty drum and white vinegar in the detergent compartment.
Inspect for Damage and Call for Repairs
