Family Size
The washer size you choose partly depends on how large your family is. Usually, one will need a large washer if your family is larger than three or four people. A large capacity washer is at least 4.5 cubits, which can fit at least 19 bath towels. If you have a relatively large family or frequently host guests, a large capacity washer could be for you.
Space
Another factor is space. How much space do you have in your laundry area? Naturally, your space will be limited if you live in an apartment or if your laundry setup is in a closet. However, if you have an entire room with no restrictions, it will be possible to have the largest model possible.

Another way to look at it is how much you can save on water usage based on your washing frequency and load. If you wash less frequently, you could cut down your water bill. However, you will need to calculate how the increased machine size would affect the overall usage.
